SUMMER SPORTS

Whitewater Rafting:

Disabled Sports is proud to provide people with disabilities the opportunity to safely raft down the South Fork of the American River, California’s most popular commercially rafted river.

Our adaptive whitewater raft trips are open to people with physical, cognitive and developmental disabilities and are open to anyone who can pass a basic float test with a lifejacket on. Our participants have included people with paraplegia, quadriplegia, hemiplegia, cerebral palsy, blindness, autism, and intellectual disabilities.

For those with a real sense of adventure, join us on the famous Chili Bar or Gorge Runs for exciting class II/III+ rapids including one’s with names like: Meatgrinder, Troublemaker, Satan’s Cesspool, Bouncing Rock, Hospital Bar, Surprise, First Threat & many more! These trips are suitable for rafters 14 years and older.

We also offer a tamer raft trip on the class II rapids from Coloma to Lotus, CA. These trips are suitable for rafters with more severe disabilities and/or 13 years and younger.
