Disabled Sports USA Far West is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization founded in 1967. As with all non-profits we rely on the generosity of others to assist us in providing our life-changing programs.

Why make a contribution to Disabled Sports? Disabled Sports has led the way in adaptive sports and recreation for people with disabilities for over 40 years. Over the years, Disabled Sports has garnered a unique understanding of the inter-relatedness of providing a positive environment with therapeutic and psychological outcomes. The agency has steadily evolved, developing innovative programs to address the complex, changing needs of people with disabilities throughout Northern California. Today, Disabled Sports offers year round therapeutic recreation and sports rehabilitation programs for people with disabilities and their families. Disabled Sports accomplishes its mission through the following programs:

Adaptive Instruction		Adaptive Adventures
	Skiing & Snowboarding		Four-Wheel Drive Outings
	Cycling		White Water Rafting
	Golf		Camping
	Waterskiing		Watersports

These programs are both affordable and inclusive and many of Disabled Sports programs are open not only to participants with disabilities, but also to their family and friends. By uniting families through recreational activities, we strengthen the well being of the entire family while ending the isolation of individuals with disabilities. With over 200 program days annually, Disabled Sports provides service to nearly 900 people with disabilities every year: Individuals are empowered to reach their full potential as they discover the truth in our slogan: “If I Can Do This, I Can Do Anything!”SM

Special Events: Disabled Sports coordinates essential fundraising events in North Tahoe and the Sacramento area. In the Tahoe area we hold 2 large-scale fundraising events: the Foam Fest and the Ability Celebration. In the Sacramento area we coordinate Their Spirit Inspires.

Scholarships: Our Scholarship Fund Needs your help! Your donation covers the cost of participation for our students in any of our winter or summer programs. It enables people with disabilities to go beyond their perceived limits and gain a sense of accomplishment that can transform their lives. $100 is the minimum donation to cover the cost of participation in any winter or summer program. Larger donations will help to maintain our Katherine Hayes Rodriguez Scholarship Fund.  Click here for a donation form.*
