Haakon Lang-Ree, Program Director
Haakon is a graduate of Stanford University (MA Organizational Behavior). Haakon came to Disabled Sports in 1992 with eight years experience in Human Resource Management. He has an innate knack for bringing the staff and volunteers together as a team and leading them with professionalism and enthusiasm. Haakon enjoys sharing his love of sports with people of all abilities.

Cindy Smith, Program Manager
Cindy is a graduate of University of California at Davis (BS Human Development and Elementary Teaching Credential). Cindy joined Disabled Sports in 1991 with nine years experience in Human Resources, Teaching and Office Administration. Her focus at Disabled Sports is Program Administration. Her organization and energy bring new participants and keep the programs running smoothly.

Brian Sheckler, Program Coordinator
Equipment, Water Skiing and Snowsports
Brian came to us from Western State College of Colorado in Gunnison, CO (BA Exercise, Sports Science and Recreation). He previously worked for two years as a volunteer adaptive ski instructor at the Adaptive Sports Center in Crested Butte, CO and started with Disabled Sports USA Far West as an intern during the 07/08 winter season. He has since been sharing his skills with Disabled Sports as a full time employee. His focus is on summer and winter adaptive sports instruction where he is involved in all aspects of program implementation and coordination.

Michael Hunter, Program Coordinator
Interns, Whitewater Rafting, Kayaking and Snowsports
Michael puts his American Canoe Certifications to use by managing our Whitewater Rafting and Kayaking Programs in the summer. In the winter, Michael is responsible for day-to-day operations of the snowsports program including Training, Team Leading, Instructing, and volunteer scheduling. Michael also coordinates our Interns year-round.

Bill "Bones" Bowness, Snowsports Technical Director
Bill coordinates all aspects of our instructor training program, continuing education clinics and manages our Snowsports Race Camp for participants. Bill has been teaching adaptive snowsports for over 18 years and holds a number of PSIA certifications including Level 3 Adaptive, Level 2 Alpine, and Children’s Specialist Level 1. He is also a Paralympic Medalist and a member of the National Alpine Team. bill@disabledsports.net
Christopher Clark, Program Coordinator (based at our Citrus Heights Executive Office Location)
Golf Program
A graduate of Park Military College, Chris comes to us with 14 years of service as a recreation specialist in the US Air Force and 10 years of experience as a Recreation Program Coordinator for the City of Stockton Department of Parks and Recreation. His focus is on organizing, launching and coordinating six new adaptive golf instruction programs throughout Northern California over the next three years as well as managing the Disabled Sports adaptive golf instruction program at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex in Sacramento, CA. Chris enjoys opening the world of recreation and leisure services to people of all abilities and is thrilled to be on our team! chris@disabledsports.net
Mary Roll, Event Coordinator
Mary is a graduate of Purdue University with a BA in Elementary Education and a Reading Specialist Credential. She came to Disabled Sports as a volunteer in 1999 with 17 years experience as a preschool/kindergarten director. She is an instructor at Disabled Sports and has been coordinating the Lake Tahoe area fundraising efforts for the past 7 years.
