RESERVATIONS

Reservations are required, and are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. We suggest calling two to four weeks in advance to reserve the dates you desire. Payment may be made by check, or credit card (not Amex), and is required to guarantee your reservation. Payments are non-refundable.

If notice of cancellation is received 7 days in advance, a credit will be issued which can be used towards participation in another Disabled Sports program. Cancellations made less than 7 days in advance will not receive a refund or credit. A full refund will be given for any programs cancelled by Disabled Sports.

WINTER PROGRAMS - Adaptive Ski and Snowboard Instruction

Adaptive ski and snowboard instruction is available daily from Mid-December 2009 through Mid-April 2010 to students of all abilities.
The minimum age requirement is 5 years. Sit-down skiers must weight 185 pounds or less to ensure skier and equipment safety. Click here for more information about adaptive equipment and teaching methods.

Cancellations made 24 hours in advance receive a Disabled Sports credit which can be used towards participation in another Disabled Sports program. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will not receive a refund or credit. We reserve the right to cancel your reservation if you arrive more than 30 minutes late without calling. Under these circumstances you will not receive a refund or credit. Remember the mountains may receive heavy snowfall the day of your lesson. The fact that it is snowing or chains are required does not warrant a credit or refund for a canceled lesson.

Lessons at Alpine Meadows Resort cost $60 (for Disabled Sports members) and include 2 ½ hours of private instruction, adaptive equipment and a lift ticket.
Lessons are available from 10:00am-12:30pm or 1:30pm-4:00pm

Lessons at Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort are offered on a limited basis for $175 (for Disabled Sports members) and include 4 hours of private instruction, a lift ticket and standard or adaptive equipment.
Lessons are available from 9:00am-3:00pm.

SCHOLARSHIP FUND

For participants with extreme financial needs, our Katherine Hayes Rodriguez Scholarship Fund will cover the cost of participation. This Katherine Hayes Rodriguez Scholarship Fund is maintained by donations from service clubs, businesses and private individuals. Click here for more information about scholarships.

How to apply for a scholarship. It is not uncommon for individuals with disabilities to have heavy financial responsibilities, limiting their access to many activities. A scholarship covers the cost of participation in any of our winter or summer programs.

Scholarships are limited to one (1) per winter and summer season.
