Help us open the door to a world of possibilities. Experience the thrill that comes from spending time helping improve the quality of life for people with disabilities. Each year, over 250 volunteers generously donate approximately 9,000 hours of their time, energy and expertise to ensure that our programs run smoothly and safely.

Who are Disabled Sports Volunteers?

We offer volunteer opportunities that are appropriate for a wide range of ages, skills, experience, professions, hobbies and interests. Disabled Sports provides free training for volunteers.

All volunteers must:

1. Be 18 years old or older and have transportation

2. Have the personal equipment needed in some program areas (e.g. skis, bikes, helmets) and, in some cases, a minimum proficiency in the sport.

3. Complete required training and fulfill a commitment to a minimum number of hours/days of service (varies by activity).

Your skills are needed in:

1. Fundraising and Special Events
2. Winter and Summer Programs

Note: Program volunteers are often asked to assist with transfers, e.g. helping the student transfer from a wheelchair to a piece of adaptive equipment or vice versa.
